At African Tusk Clothing, the Lake Farm Centre in Gqeberha holds a very special place in our hearts.
Founded in 1959 by a dedicated group of parents seeking a safe, loving, and nurturing space for their intellectually challenged children, Lake Farm Centre has grown into a thriving sanctuary. Decades later, it continues to be a home where residents don't just live—they truly flourish.
Within this supportive environment, residents find purpose and joy in everyday life:
· Sustaining their home: Tending to their gardens and harvesting fresh vegetables for daily meals.
· Creating & serving: Baking delicious treats to serve in their very own on-site coffee shop.
· Engaging together: Actively participating in a vibrant schedule of community events.
With young adults close to our hearts who call Lake Farm home, we are overjoyed by the happiness and contentment they experience every day. We are deeply grateful for the beautiful life and exceptional care provided to them.
Over the last year, we’ve been honoured to give back to this incredible community by donating custom-embroidered aprons and beanies for the team to wear in their kitchen and coffee shop; supplying our signature parka jackets, polar fleece jackets, beanies, scarves, and gloves, as well as raffling a Romer Cooler Box filled with African Tusk gear at the Spar Kirkwood Wildsfees, donating all proceeds directly to the centre.
We truly love partnering with such an inspirational organization and look forward to supporting them for many years to come.
